LATEST:

Two accidents, two deaths in just two days, and all in the same county. A Gibson County motorcycle accident takes the life of a rider. The Gibson County Sheriff's Office responded to a single motorcycle crash on State Road 57 and 540 South, that's at the edge of Somerville, just after 11:30 Sunday morning. Deputy Brad Garnett with the Gibson County Sheriff's Office says two people were travelling on the motorcycle southbound on 57 when the wheels quit moving and the motorcycle slid into a guardrail, and saturday afternoon  an 82 year old woman died from injuries in a car crash on State Road 65.
Traffic both north and south halted immediately. Garnett confirms that a man is seriously injured and  was life-flighted to Saint Mary's. Garnett says with the warm weather, Indiana roads are seeing alot more bikes. Traffic began moving around 2 pm. The Gibson County Coroner's office says more specific details about the crash won't be released until the families are notified.

UPDATE: The Gibson County Sheriff's department confirms one person has died in a single vehicle accident on State Road 57 in Somerville. They say a male was also lifeflighted to the hospital for his injuries. Authorities say it appears the motorcycle struck a guardrail and both people were ejected. We're told no other vehicles were involved. No word on the gender of the victim or whether either of the two were wearing helmets. Eyewitness News will have more on this story tonight at 6.
