Updated: June 6, 2012
It was a dream come true for UE Shortstop Eric Stamets on the second day of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.  The Angels selected the All-American Infielder with the 19th pick in the sixth round.  In a phone interview with Eyewitness News, Stamets said he was planning on signing with the Angels organization.  If not, he has the option to return to UE for his senior year.  Stamets
helped the Aces lead the nation in fielding percentage (.981) in 2012.  He also hit .316 and finished 19th in the nation with thirty stolen bases.
