A woman survives jumping off the Blue Bridge in Owensboro. Dispatchers say the incident happened around 9:30 Monday morning on the Blue Bridge, near the Indiana side of the Ohio River.

After the jump, a tugboat pulled the unidentified woman from the water and later met up with an ambulance at English Park. According to first responders, the woman said she was having a hard time with life. She also apparently told officers she was hurt, but didn't remember what had just happened.

Witnesses on the scene say it was a shocking sight.

"Well, I'm really sad. I feel kind of sorry for her. I don't know what was going on in her life, but I hope things get better for her," said Michael Marcellino.

The woman was taken to the hospital, but her condition is unknown. Authorities closed the bridge after the woman jumped, but Eyewitness News is told it has since been reopened.
