Western Kentucky cities are seeing the worst of this ice storm. Some say it seems like the region is turning into one big icicle, and theyre saying the slippery roadways are the least of their troubles.. Ice is more than an inch thick in some places and roads are slippery, but the slick conditions arent the only problem. People say the real danger is the ices weight pulling trees and powerlines down all over the place. Every hotel room in the area is booked. Responders are evacuating medical facilities and homeowners to a local church.Utility workers coming from out of the area will be staying there as well. According to officials, they may be setting up camp for at least a week. Hopkins County officials are warning those with their own generators to only plug them into heating sources -- not into the wall. Doing that can endanger utility repair workers outside.
