Outdated conditions and limited space are just some reasons there is much excitement for a new Warrick County Animal Control facility. Today county commissioners hosted a groundbreaking ceremony that will provide a new animal shelter east of Boonville. Construction is set to begin in July, and some say this is an event that has long been anticipated.
"It means the world," said Warrick Health Department Administrator Aaron Franz, "because without the County Commissioner, the County Council, and the Health Department working together, we wouldn't be able to accomplish this and also a lot of the community support. So, it's a big deal. It takes all of us to get it accomplished."
The new facility will be located near the current one on Roth Rd. It's expected to be completed in 45 to 60 days.
