Ron Rhodes

Updated: February 8, 2012
Ron Rhodes is an Owensboro, Kentucky native, so he knows just how challenging predicting Tri-State weather can be.

He graduated from Western Kentucky University, and he earned his meteorology degree from Mississippi State. He was awarded the National Weather Association Seal of Approval in 1995.

Ron prides himself on keeping a high (usually 90%) accuracy rate for his forecasts.

"That's the best part of my job," he said. "It's the challenge of getting a good hold on the ever-changing weather here. Sometimes it's hard to hit that 3 Degree Guarantee---especially in the spring and fall."

Ron is often amused by the mail he receives from viewers---particularly the notes poking fun at unforseen weather that catches him, and the Tri-State, off-guard. "I don't like missing a forecast," Ron said. "But I always enjoy a good laugh!"

Ron enjoys spending time wife his wife, Marcia, and their son, Jordan.
