Evansville Police broke down a hotel room door following a murder threat.

Officers were called to the Royal Inn Motel around 3 a-m Tuesday.

An employee told police he heard screaming in the room, and thought someone was being beaten.  When officers knocked, no one answered, but a woman from inside yelled that she had a knife and if police came inside there would be, "a murder on Fares Avenue."

Police then broke down the door and found two women smoking marijuana.

No arrests were made.
