Quinn Extends Hours for First and Last Days of School

A new law in Illinois will help ensure that school days are not a waste of time or money.
Governor Pat Quinn signed the bill requiring the first and last days of school to be at least five hours long.
There have been complaints for years that it's a waste of time and money for districts for kids to go to school on those days for just an hour or two and be sent home.
