When Shawn Woehler started his work day at Lee's Barber Shop in Henderson, he had no idea there was a crime scene just a few doors away.
"We were just sitting here cutting hair and a detective ran in and asked us if we'd seen anybody running down the alley in an orange shirt and no we hadn't because we've been here cutting, but we were more shocked than anybody," Shawn Woehler said.
Henderson Police say five employees were inside when the robber came in the Green River Area Federal Credit Union, showed a hand gun, and demanded money.
"Mouth opening, jaw dropping, shock, you just, it's Henderson. You just don't hear that here, you know it's just, the bad things don't happen usually to our little town," Woehler said.
Officers say the man got away with an undisclosed amount of money. He is described as a white male with shaggy hair.
"If he's got dark brown shaggy hair, we know he has not been in here," Woehler said.
Police say a K9 unit followed the scent to the alley and it stopped, which means the suspect most likely got into a vehicle. They say the white SUV in this picture was not involved with the crime. Officials say the tellers were shaken up, but they did exactly what they were supposed to do.
"Quite a few of us bank here, so it kind of hits home. It's the people we're accustomed to seeing, it's the only credit union in the city. We do a lot of business with them and a lot of these ladies have been here for a long time, so they've become our friends over time," Jennifer Richmond said.
A frightening situation, but officers say no one was injured.
Police say the suspect is a white male in his 40's, between 5'6" and 5'10", stocky build, with dark brown shaggy hair. He was last seen wearing an orange t-shirt, blue jeans, large framed glasses, and a white piece of cloth covering part of his face. If you have any information on the suspect, call Henderson Police.
