A young man's death continues to inspire people in Mount Vernon.  The 5th Annual Jason Stevens Memorial Softball Tournament is underway.  Jason Stevens was a standout athlete at Mount Vernon High School.  He wrestled and played tennis and baseball.  When he died in a car accident, friends and family knew they had to carry on his legacy.
To many its just softball. But to those at Brittle Bank Park in Mount Vernon.  For one weekend each summer, its more than just a game.
Jason Stevens was a Mount Vernon graduate and Senior Airman in the U.S. Air Force.  He died in a car accident August 2nd, 2006.
Tim Hargett has celebrated his birthday at this Memorial Softball Tournament for the last five years. He's the man keeping friends together, even after death.  The game serves as a reason to remember.  The memories are a reason to smile.
Organizers are selling t-shirts throughout the two day event. All proceeds will be donated to the Mount Vernon High School wrestling and baseball teams.
