Imagine taking a family camping trip, and coming home to a burned down house. That's what one Boonville family is going through right now. The McKinney family is picking up the pieces after returning from a camping trip and finding their house destroyed by fire. Now they need all the help they can get as they try and get back on their feet.
All they can do is watch, board a window or two and hope. Mike and Regina McKinney had taken their three boys on a trip and got a devastating phone call.
Pam Spradley is a family friend who saw the fire firsthand. She's calling for people in Warrick County to reach out a helping hand to a hurting family.
One positive to take away, no one was in this bed when flames consumed it. All that's scarred are their emotions, and the charred boards among the ashes.
The McKinneys say they are staying in a hotel room tonight thanks to the American Red Cross. We're told they do have insurance.
