Teen Allegedly Shoots Stepfather

Daviess County Sheriffs deputies say a Utica, Kentucky man is in critical condition after his stepson allegedly shot him. The incident happened just before 5:00 Monday morning. Detectives say they were originally told a 15-year-old thought someone was breaking into the house and had used the gun to shoot what he thought was an intruder. However, detectives say they later found out the boys mother and step-father had gotten into a fight and that the teen shot his step-father in the stomach. The man is identified as Donald Vanover. The son was arrested and charged with battery.
