A very eventful day is still not over for Henderson police, after two bank robberies, schools put on lock down and the suspect is still on the loose. Officers say Independence Bank was robbed on Zion Road around 9:15 am, then about an hour later The Bank of Henderson off Barret Boulevard was hit. HPD is dealing with its fifth bank robbery since June and now believe one man is responsible for three of them. We have pictures from the Green River Federal Credit Union robbery back in July. Lisa Griffin is at The Bank of Henderson trying to get cash, but she can't, the tellers are leaving earlier than usual. Now police can center in on one man, and Henderson is working with the FBI on the investigation. The man police are looking for is a white male 5-foot 4-inches tall, medium complexion in his 50s. He was wearing blue jean shorts, and an orange t-shirt in the Independence Bank robbery and a green stripped shirt and sunglasses in The Bank of Henderson robbery. He also has on a dark colored hat and a white bandana covering his face. If you have any information you are asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 270-831-1111, you can call anonymously. About half a dozen Henderson County schools were placed on lock down as a precaution.
