Police have identified the victim in what has become a two-state homicide investigation.  Evansville Police say 26-year-old Brandon Anthony Draper of Evansville was found dead in a burned out car in Hopkins County over the weekend.  On Tuesday, Evansville Police responded to a 911 call for a possible burglary report at an apartment on Washington Avenue, where they discovered a violent incident happened inside.

Danny Thomas spends a lot of time at his gym, Rock'em Sock'em Boxing & Kick Boxing in Evansville.  He meets a lot people and has made a lot of friends over the years.  One of those was Brandon Draper.

"He was a clean cut, nice looking young man, came down here to gym and worked out and he was really concerned about getting his body in good shape," Danny Thomas said.

Thomas says he couldn't believe the news when he heard about the crime scene nearby on Washington Avenue.  Evansville Police say Draper is being treated as a victim of a homicide.

"Man I was in a big shock because Brandon is a good guy far as I know he's been coming down here to the gym working out and respectful young man, and he was planning on fighting in the Golden Gloves next year, but I hadn't seen him here in a month and a half or so you know," Thomas said.

Police say there are two different scenes with a common name.  One in Hopkins County, where Draper was found dead in a burned out car, and at an Evansville apartment on Washington Avenue.

"Ransacked would be a good way to describe it and there was a substantial amount of blood in the apartment," Sgt. Jason Cullum said.

Police say Draper did not live here, but stayed here frequently.  Officers say they don't know where Draper was killed, and they don't know what caused the fire.  However, they say Draper rented the car in Evansville.  Police say Draper has a history with the police department, but in this investigation his history is not relevant at this point.  But for now, authorities are left with a lot of unanswered questions.

Police say they have interviewed a couple of people, but do not have any suspects at this time.  If you have any information on this case, call police.
