Postal Workers Warn Kentuckians Of Peanut Recall
(Atlanta, GA) -- The post office is going door-to-door in Kentucky to alert residents to the peanut butter recall.
The tainted product made its way into many emergency meals distributed to people left without power after a recent ice storm.
Postal workers reportedly plan to hand out 600-thousand flyers from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The flyers warn Kentucky residents to toss any meals that contain peanuts or peanut butter.
Its just a precaution, say local FEMA officials, and so far there have been no reports of illness.
Nationally, some 600 people have been sickened by salmonella from contaminated peanut butter out of a Georgia processing plant.
Some 13-hundred products have been recalled as a result.
