Eleven Herbs And Spices Back In Kentucky
(Louisville, KY) -- The secret combo of eleven herbs and spices that KFC puts in their Original Recipe chicken is back at company headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.
KFC says The Colonels secret recipe is back to company headquarters after being escorted by an armed guard.
The recipe was created by restaurant founder Colonel Harland Sanders.
It was taken off headquarters grounds last fall so upgrades to the security of the famed recipes "storage accommodations" could be made.
Its now in a computerized vault that weighs over 770 pounds.
It has a half-inch thick steel door and two-foot-thick concrete walls, ceilings and floors.
The vault is under 24-hour surveillance and uses a "smart key" and PIN to open it.
Access is allowed only at preset times throughout the day.
