"Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Campaign Leads to Thousands of Arrests in Kentucky

Updated: October 23, 2012

We're learning the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Campaign in Kentucky was a big success. But not just for removing drunk drivers from our roads. Officers from across the commonwealth joined with hundreds of others nationwide for the two-and-a-half week long effort around Labor Day. More than 1,600 people driving under the influence were arrested. But just in Kentucky, nearly 2,000 fugitives were caught, and there were 1,300 drug arrests. More than 1,000 stolen vehicles were also recovered during the federally-funded campaign.
