Senate Republicans Promise To Not Delay Stimulus
(Washington, DC) -- The top Republican in the U.S. Senate says his party will not block the proposed 789-billion-dollar economic stimulus package.
Senator Mitch McConnell said the GOP members of the Senate believe its time to, quote, "vote and move on." He said there would be no procedural maneuvers by the minority party to prevent the measure from passing.
A senior House Democratic aide cautioned that no deal has been reached, despite an announcement by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other top senators.
