Main Street, small town, middle America, home of the proud.

They come to The Carriage Inn in Haubstadt for the fried chicken. But lately, they've feasted on the conversation.

"Everything revolves around the football team right now," said Gibson Southern football fan Ed Reinhart. "Every sentence has the word Titan in it."

"It's so exciting, it's hard to believe," said Charles Heath. "It really is."

For these two, life is simple: faith, family, and Titans football.

"We had two grandsons play for Gibson Southern," said Heath. "One of them graduated last year and this one will be the last one."

"My son used to play for them," said Reinhart. "He lives 6 hours away and he's even thinking about driving down to go to the game."

And who could blame him after an overtime win against Memorial and a comeback for the ages against Charlestown. This week brings Indianapolis Chatard. Again, Gibson Southern won't be favored.

And that's ok.

"Everybody knows it's a small school and a small team," said Heath. "They're doing things nobody expected of them."

"You have to have some luck along the way," said Reinhart. "Most if it is skill, you have to have the pride and you have to have the desire."

In this small Tri-State community, you'll find plenty of both.
