Illinois Officials Continue Negoations on Union Wages

Illinois lawmakers are considering a measure to cap wage increases for state employees in contract talks between their unions and governor's office. Some lawmakers say the state has already made too many financial promises it can't keep. Governor Pat Quinn's administration has been unable to reach an agreement to replace a contract with the state's largest employees union that expired in June. The state's dealing with an under-funded pension system and billions of dollars of unpaid bills.
