Evansville Shooting Suspect Remains Jailed

An Evansville shooting suspect remains behind bars.

18-year-old, David Brown, is in the Vanderbugh County Jail, facing a charge of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Brown was arrested Saturday, after police responded to a victim with gunshot wounds at Deaconess Hospital.  That lead them to the 900 block of West Maryland.

The victim told police that Brown and another man, nicknamed "Boo", shot him after accusing him of stealing nearly 200-dollars.

Police got a search warrant for the home, and say they found a handgun, blood, and an empty casing.

Initially, police say Brown denied he was at the home at the time of the shooting.  But later, police say he admitted he was there, but that someone else shot the victim.

Brown is being held on a 10-thousand dollar bond.
