Evansville Man Facing Prison Time For Allegedly Stealing Deer

An Evansville man could face up to 3 years in prison and a 10-thousand dollar fine for allegedly stealing a dead deer.
It happened at the Pike State Forest. A hunter staying at one of the campsites claims Patrick DeWeese stole the deer from his campsite, then took it to a check in station, claiming it was his.
Conservation Officer say they searched the area where DeWeese claimed he shot the deer, but when they could not find any signs a deer was shot in that area, he reportedly confessed to stealing it and was charged with theft.
