The revitalization of Haynie's Corner Arts District in Evansville continues. Ideas are swirling and residents in the area continue to show support for one of the most notable parts of downtown. Another neighborhood workshop was held and the topic this time...branding! How do neighbors attract businesses, future residents and tourists? One Brownsburg, Indiana couple wants to move back to Evansville but says Haynie's Corner is in need of better marketing. For Kristin and Sam Forrest, this meeting is an audition, should their move back to the River City land them in the Arts District. Some say putting money into possibilities is a gamble. The Department of Metropolitan Development says this branding initiative will work with residents and community leaders through a series of interviews, signage creations, -maps and other elements. For the Forrests, they say they're hopeful and confident in Haynie's future, and say only time will tell if their new address will reflect it. Public comments and ideas for the future of Haynie's Corner are still being welcomed, they may be submitted via email to Bob Grewe at RGrewe@blainc.com or by calling 812.479.6200 ext. 168
