House Approves Partial Aid Package For Sandy Victims

The House has overwhelmingly approved the first part of a 60 billion dollar aid package to victims of Superstorm Sandy. The Senate is expected to follow suit on the 9-point-7 billion dollar flood insurance measure.
FEMA warns that the National Flood Insurance Program will run out of money next week, if Congress doesn't provide additional borrowing authority to pay out claims.
Northeast lawmakers say the money is urgently needed for storm victims awaiting claim checks from the late October storm.
The rest of the package is scheduled for a January 15th house vote.
