An Oakland City Police officer is taken to the hospital after being hit by a car. It happened around 3 p.m. near Morton St. and Franklin St. Police Chief Alec Hensley says Deputy Mike Nichols was directing traffic near a school crossing, when a driver ran into a parked car, pushing it into Nichols. We're told his injuries are not life-threatening, but he was taken to the hospital.
