Troopers say Blaize entered his ex-girlfriends home where she lived with her father shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Blaize had apparently been involved in an argument with his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend earlier in the day. ISP says Blaize entered the home through the garage and tried to fire a handgun at the new boyfriend, but the gun did not go off. There was a subsequent altercation. Trooper say Blaize fired the gun into the residence again before fleeing, this time shooting his ex-girlfriend's father. The 47-year-old father was taken to Deaconess Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity will be released Thursday morning.
Blaize was arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail after troopers found him inside his grandmother's Francisco home. His criminal charges are expected to be released Thursday morning.
