It's a new hangout on West Franklin Street in Evansville. Dustin Moore went to Tin Man Brewing Company with his friends for a cold beer on December 14th. He says he spent $16.57. Moore says this week, he discovered he was charged that same amount again.
"I just feel bad for them. Them being new, it really sucks if I open a business, I'd be very disappointed if a glitch happened like that and you, 5,000 people or whatever that's quite a bit of a headache," Dustin Moore said.
Moore says the same thing happened to his girlfriend. But they're not the only ones. Tin Man says earlier this week, possibly thousands of debit and credit paying customers were accidentally re-charged purchases. Some customers were upset and took to Facebook. But Moore says it is what it is.
"People, humans make mistakes and you know every machine can make a mistake," Moore said.
The production micro brewery says they believe it's a computer glitch.
"It was nothing on our end that caused this. No employee was involved. It's strictly third party vendors that have created this problem and are working as diligently as they can to rectify the problem," Tin Man Brewing Company, Vice President Andy Davidson said.
Tin Man says some customers have actually been credited up to three times the amount originally spent. And both sides of the bar are feeling the impact. Tin Man says every time there is an extra charge or a credit, it has to pay a transaction fee. As for Moore, he says he'll be back.
"They're a good place, you should go there," Moore said.
Tin Man's Facebook page says all double charges have been refunded and customers should see the refund hit their accounts in the next couple of days. It adds, if the double charges caused an overdraft in your checking account, you need to contact Tin Man Brewing to get the overdraft fee resolved.
