The Evansville Police Department wants the community to help stop the progressing gang problem.  And it appears many people called to report Sunday morning's shooting near Vann and Covert Avenues.

911 CALL:  "I am in a drive thru at Taco Bell at Covert and Vann. I just, I was sitting in the drive thru and I heard people screaming and it sounds like someone just got shot. I heard anywhere between 8 and 12 rounds go off."

Just a few days after making that 911 call, she is speaking out about what she saw and heard Sunday morning in Evansville.  She did not want to reveal her identity, but told us we could call her Kaycee.

"I was pretty scared. So scared that the very next day, filed my conceal carry permit," Kaycee said.

Kaycee says the gunmen was about 100 feet away from her.  She says the gunshots just kept going.

"All I can remember is seeing a group of people, a guy pulling the gun out and then I remember seeing the flash from the gun," Kaycee said.

Kaycee wasn't the only person in the drive thru, and she wasn't the only one to call 911.  Around 15 people made the call.

911 CALL: "Now there's a white Explorer with dark tinted windows. Shots are being fired right now. Five more."

911 CALL: "Evansville 911? Oh my god, there's a big shooting by the Buy Low on Covert. There's people down, on Covert."

Kaycee says if she sees anything suspicious, she reports it.  And that's exactly what the Evansville Police Department hopes more people will do.  They also want more cooperation from witnesses and victims.

"They can't be everywhere all the time. If we're not going to do it, who is? They respond to what we call in. They don't know what's going on, unless we tell them, so why not tell them," Kaycee said.

Evansville Police arrested Dalarrius Jackson in connection with Sunday's shooting.  Officers say he's the second in command of the LA Zombies gang.
