Two new tax increases approved by the Indianapolis City-County Council mean it will cost more to attend events in the circle city. The admissions tax is going from 6 percent to 10 percent, which is the tax added to the price of event tickets like the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers games. Also going up is car rental tax, which will increase from 4 to 6 percent. The new revenue will go toward funding public safety agencies. Non-profit and high school events will be exempt from the tax.
