New numbers released today shows hotel bookings in Evansville fell slightly in 2012. The Star Report shows hotels dropped 3.2 percent in occupency. Executive Director Bob Warren of the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau blames the drop on the renovations at Casino Aztar. He says thousands of rooms could not be rented out from october through December.

"About 70 percent of their rooms were out of inventory at one time," said Warren, "and certainly that created a lack of demand. And that always creates a very poor occupency if you're dealing with your number one attraction."

Warren expects 2013 to be a better year for the hotel industry with Aztar back up and running.
