An Indiana Senate committee turns down Governor Mike Pence's tort reform proposal to have losers of lawsuits pay all legal fees. A member of the committee says the proposal was withdrawn because it was unlikely to pass the Senate Judiciary Committee. The governor's reform suggested some of the fees a person would have to pay after losing a lawsuit would include attorney fees and court costs. The Indiana Trial Lawyers Association says it would bar many from fighting their case in court.
