Owensboro and Daviess County leaders are mobilizing to fight for their share of the Presidents stimulus package.
They joined with area agencies to come up with a system to show Frankfort a united front.
Typically local agencies independently lobby with lawmakers to get funding, but local government is asking all local organizations wanting funding to run it past the Green River Area Development District first.
This way Frankfort can see Owensboro means business.
Reid Haire, the Daviess Co. Judge-Executive says, "If an organization that believes they are qualified for some of that stimulus money, get ahold of the Green River Area Development District and find out one, if theyre qualified and two, how they can get go about getting a piece of those dollars."
Some of the areas priorities include the U.S. bypass extension, adult education classes, and home weatherization.
