KY Looking at Lifting Election Day Alcohol Ban

While Indiana lawmakers continue to discuss the possibility of allowing packaged alcohol sales on Sundays, lawmakers in Kentucky are again considering lifting a ban on election day alcohol sales.
The state ban on selling at restaurants, bars and retail stores on election day dates back to the prohibition-era. Soon, however, the full Senate will vote on allowing sales on those days.
A Senate committee has already given its approval to the legislation.
Kentucky and South Carolina are the only two states that have such bans in place. However, similar measures have all failed in past years.
