Officials Say Flu Shots Poorly Effective for Seniors

This year's flu vaccine did a poor job in protecting seniors. That word tonight from federal health officials. The shots were reportedly only nine percent effective in protecting seniors against the most common and dangerous flu bug. For all age groups, officials say the effectiveness was just over 50 percent. While flu vaccines tend to protect younger people better, and is never 100 percent effective. Experts are disappointed with these numbers and are now working on developing a better vaccine before next flu season.
