FORT BRANCH - A high-speed cruise home puts a Tennessee man on a fast track to the Gibson County jail. The man was caught driving more than twice the speed limit.

Deputies say 20-year-old Audrius Smith of Clarksville, Tennessee was traveling 105 miles per hour on Highway 41 near State Road 168 in Fort Branch.

Smith told deputies he was speeding because we was running late on his way back to Tennessee.

But it appears his trip home will be delayed further. Smith is being held in the Gibson County jail on charges of reckless driving and possession of marijuana,.
