Madisonville City Councilman Resigns

Dr. William Smith has announced he is resigning from the council. According to a statement from the Mayor's Office, Smith has moved his residence to outside the city limits. The resignation will be effective at the next meeting of the City Council, at which time, the process of appointing a new council member will begin.
Mayor David Jackson said, "I certainly appreciate Dr. Smith's services on the City Council. Bill has contributed a lot of good ideas, energy and enthusiasm to his Council position. I certainly hope to see him in public service again in the near future."
