For more than 17 years, no one has heard from or seen Heather Teague. And now her mother is taking investigators to court to demand their information in the case. Sarah Teague filed the lawsuit in federal court in Owensboro today. She's not suing for money. Teague says she just wants information.

In 1995, her daughter was on Newburgh Beach in Henderson County when she disappeared. She says after years of mixed up answers and questions, about eyewitnesses, the state police's chief suspect, and the suicide that ended the search for Heather's body. This mother just wants to know for herself.

"It's unbelievable what's happened here," said Teague. "I know what they've done, and I just don't know where that leaves Heather and why. But someday when we find out what was really going on that day, when an eyewitness sees somebody being dragged into the woods, do they wait an hour? Do they wait five minutes? He not only waited, but he told a whole different story. I had to get the FBI's files before I found the truth."

Those in the lawsuit include Kentucky State Police, Henderson Police, the only eyewitness in the case, and the sketch artist used in the investigation.
