An Indiana House committee is considering tighter limits on how much
cold medicine consumers can buy. The bill State Senators approved last
month would limit purchases of up to 61 grams a year of ephedrine and
pseudoephedrine. About two boxes of the medicine a month. The current
law's monthly limit is 7.2 grams. The bill also increases the criminal
penalty for anyone buying more than 10 grams of those medicines
intending to give them to someone who is making meth.
