Updated: March 6, 2009
Kentucky legislators are finally releasing their plans for transportation funds. After weeks of secrecy, the funding allotments are announced and its good news for Daviess County. For years, the area has been trying to get state and federal funds for a US60 bypass extension linking I-64 in Indiana and I-65 toward Bowling Green. The connector would make for easier access to where planners envision the new hospital. Frankfort has given money to fund only the first phase of the project. Other projects planners hope to see happen in town are making Southtown Boulevard five lanes and re-painting the Blue Bridge.
