The
University of Kentucky finally got it's man, and yes his first name is
Billy. Former Texas A&M Head Coach Billly Gillispie was introduced
as the 6th UK Coach in the past 76 years at a press conference this
afternoon in Lexington. Gillispie is known for turning programs around
in a hurry. He has a proven track record at both UTEP and Texas
A&M. The Aggies made it to this year's Sweet 16, by beating Rick
Pitino and Louisville, in of all places, Rupp Arena. Gillispie was also an assistant under Bill Self at both Tulsa and Illinois. Billy "G" was set to become the highest paid coach in the Big 12 but chose to leave for greener grass in the bluegrass state. He replaces Tubby Smith who left Lexington for Minnesota two weeks ago. Fox 7 will air a half hour sitdown interview with the new Cats coach Friday night and Sunday night at ten.
